Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)
What is counselling?
Counselling is a safe and confidential space where you can talk about your thoughts, feelings, and experiences with a trained professional. It provides an opportunity to explore difficulties, gain insight, and work towards positive change at your own pace.
How do I know if counselling is right for me?
It is normal to feel unsure about starting counselling. For this reason, I offer a free 20-minute introductory call by phone or WhatsApp / Zoom from the comfort of your own home. This allows us to introduce ourselves and explore why you want to come to counselling, and ask any questions. There is no obligation to continue if you decide it is not the right fit.
What can counselling help with?
People seek counselling for many different reasons. This may include:
- Anxiety or stress
- Low mood or depression
- Relationship difficulties
- Loss or grief
- Self-esteem and confidence issues
- Life transitions or personal challenges
- And many more
How long is each session?
Counselling sessions typically last 50 minutes.
How much does a session cost?
Sessions cost £50 for face-to-face and £45 for online. Concessionary rates are available for students and those who receive benefits/ ow-income support.
I also offer a discount 10% for block bookings of 6.
How many sessions will I need?
The number of sessions varies depending on your needs and what you would like to work on. Some people attend for a short period, while others choose longer-term support. This can be discussed during the initial session.
Do you offer online counselling?
Yes. Sessions are available online or in person, depending on your preference and availability.
Is counselling confidential?
Confidentiality is an important part of counselling. What you share during sessions will remain private. However, there are some circumstances where confidentiality may need to be broken, such as when there is a serious risk of harm to yourself or others, or where disclosure is required by law.
How do I book a session?
You can get in touch by completing the contact form on the website or by emailing:
Hayley@hayleylouisetherapyservices.co.uk
I will respond as soon as possible to arrange an initial appointment.
What happens if I need to cancel a session?
If you need to cancel or rearrange an appointment, please provide as much notice as possible. Details about the cancellation policy will be discussed before counselling begins.
Where are sessions held?
In-person sessions take place in Liverpool, and online sessions are available for those who prefer remote counselling.
