Hiya! I’m Hayley, an integrative therapist based in Liverpool (and online).
“My path to becoming a counsellor started in my mid-20s, after having children. Like many, my journey was far from straightforward—it was full of challenges and moments of feeling overwhelmed. Yet, there were also times of clarity and grace amidst the chaos.
(You might be asking, why would I put myself through all of that?) The truth is, it was the support of a therapist I felt truly comfortable with—someone I could speak to openly, without fear of judgment, that made all the difference. It was that safe space that I began to understand why I felt the way I did and how my actions were shaped by those tough, negative emotions. Therapy provided me with the chance to reconnect with myself and discover who I truly am. It was this moment that inspired me to change my career and follow my passion to help others unravel the moments they find difficult to navigate and discover their true selves.
As a therapist, I am down-to-earth and straight talking. I am about real honest conversations, no clinical jargon or ‘therapy speak’. I believe you’re the expert of your own life, and my role is to be your gardening partner. Think of me as someone who helps you nurture and grow through the tough times, tending to the roots while guiding you through the weeds. I’m here to help you clear the path, without pressure or judgment. And if we get stuck in a patch, I’ll gently help you see where the patterns might be holding you back, so we can help you bloom.”
I believe therapy is deeply personal and unique, and no two journeys are the same. That’s why we’ll work at your pace. There’s no set approach or ‘right’ way to do it—it’s all about finding what works for you and what helps you move forward. Together, we’ll tailor our work to what feels most suited for you.
What’s most important to me is building a relationship founded on respect, honesty, and authenticity. I want you to feel as comfortable as possible to open up and share your true self. That connection—where you feel seen, heard, and understood—is the starting point for any real progress.
And hey, while therapy is important, it doesn’t always have to be heavy. We might dig deep, but we’ll also share moments of humour along the way. Sometimes, a little laugh or lightness can help bring a new perspective, and honestly, it makes the tough work a little easier. I’m here to support you, sit alongside you and create a space where healing feels both possible and a bit more manageable.”
Intro call and First Session
I offer a free 20-minute intro call over the phone. It’s a chance for us to say ‘hi,’ have a brief chat about why you want to attend therapy and if we are a good fit for each other. You can easily book this through the ‘Book a Call’ page.
If you are happy to continue with me, our first session is all about getting to know you. We will spend some time together understanding confidentiality and more details about how I work and what to expect from sessions. I will then open up the conversation to explore what led you to
counselling and what you’d like to work on. Don’t worry if you’re not sure yet—lots of people aren’t when they begin, and that’s totally okay.
