Therapy is a safe, confidential space where you can talk openly about your thoughts, feelings, and experiences with a trained professional. It’s designed to help you better understand yourself, manage challenges, and make positive changes in your life at your own pace.

Many people come to therapy during difficult periods — such as anxiety, low mood, stress, relationship problems, grief, or major life changes. Others attend simply to understand themselves better, build confidence, or improve their overall wellbeing. You don’t need to be in crisis to benefit from therapy.

A therapist will listen without judgement and work with you to explore what’s going on in your life. Together, you can identify patterns, develop coping strategies, and find healthier ways of thinking and responding. Therapy is collaborative — you remain in control of what you share and what you want to focus on.

Sessions usually last around 50 minutes and take place weekly or fortnightly, either in person or online. Everything discussed is kept confidential, with a few legal exceptions which will always be explained clearly at the start.

There are many different approaches to therapy, but at its core, the aim is the same: to support you in feeling heard, understood, and better equipped to handle life’s challenges. Over time, therapy can help you build resilience, improve relationships, and feel more like yourself again.

If you’re unsure whether therapy is right for you, that’s completely normal. Reaching out for an initial conversation can help you decide if it feels like the right step.
